As-Salaam Alaikum,

This is an announcement from the Board of AMYAA (Atlanta Masjid Young Adult Association). The Board after some discussion has decided to restructure the way AMYYA meets and operates. The twice monthly meetings were attended by the same small group of people and board members and were not effective at meeting the goals of AMYAA. Therefore this letter serves as the official cancellation of AMYAA’s twice monthly meetings. However AMYAA is still just as committed to quality programs and activities to serve our community. Instead of our usual twice monthly meeting, we will organize ourselves seasonally around activities and specific events. There will be a spring, summer, fall, and winter event and seminar each year. At the beginning of each board term ideas and suggestions from the community will be solicited. The event and seminar will be from one of the 4 areas of community life : Education, Business, Culture, and Politics.
The Spring event is approaching. And we have decided to continue with the event that slected by AMYAA’s general body – “The Community Game Show”. If anyone would like to contribute to the planning and execution of this event please call any one of the Board member listed at the end of this letter and let us know. We will be meeting Sun. 2-11-07 @ 10am We are also taking suggestions for the summer event and seminar. We will continue to send out updates of happenings in the community and we continue to encourage people to use www.AMYAA.org as a means of staying connected and active.
